VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The filing for candidates interested in serving on the Valley City Commission and Valley City Park Board is now open to all city residents.

President of the City Commission or Mayor of Valley City is open for a 4-year term. Mayor Dave Carlsrud told NewsDakota.com that he is not seeking re-election. He encouraged Valley City residents interested in the position to get the required form in City Hall or online and run.

Two City Commission seats are open for a 4-year term. The two commissioners up for re-election are Jeff Erickson and Dewey Magnuson.

And three Valley City Park Board positions are open for a 4-year term. Those three board members up for re-election include Dick Gulmon, Buff Murray, and Susan Kringlie.

Required forms are available at the City Hall offices in Valley City or online at nd.gov/eforms

Remember all required signatures must be filed no later than Monday, April 6th at 4pm. Keep in mind any petition forms submitted after 4pm will not be accepted by city officials.

The Citywide election will be held Tuesday, June 9th during the Statewide June Primary Election.
