
FREMONT, NE – It took a little extra time, but the Jimmies got the better of the Warriors again.
Carson Brown scored 2:27 into overtime Friday at Sidner Ice Arena as sixth-ranked Jamestown ACHA D1 Men’s Hockey defeated Midland 2-1, the Jimmies’ third win over the Warriors this season.
Wyatt Johnson set up the winner for Brown, his 11th of the season, for the fourth straight win for Jamestown (16-10-1-0).
Matthew McIntyre broke a scoreless tie for a 1-0 UJ lead on the powerplay at 13:43 of the second period, assisted by Brad Fortin and Alex Erichuk.
Thomas Babb evened the game at 17:23 of the second for Midland (6-15-4-0).
Jamestown outshot Midland 38-22 and was 1-of-3 on the power play while Midland was 0-of-4. Jimmie goalie Brandon Weare made 22 saves.
The Jimmies will play again on Saturday against Midland in Fremont.
