VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCPS) – Pre-kindergarten students at Jefferson Elementary School recently enjoyed a hands-on learning experience with the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) as they learned about snowplow trucks and their vital role in keeping North Dakota roads safe during the winter months.

Kelly Bacon and Chey Spitzer from the NDDOT visited the class to explain how snowplow trucks help drivers travel safely and emphasized the importance of giving snowplows plenty of space on the road to ensure everyone makes it home safely each day. Students were especially excited to see the snowplow up close and even had the opportunity to sound the horn on Friday, January 9th.

Mrs. Becca Berntson, Pre-K Teacher at Jefferson Elementary, thanked the NDDOT for providing such an engaging learning opportunity. “Our students loved learning about snowplows and hearing firsthand how they help our community,” she said.

Each Friday, the Jefferson Elementary Pre-K class learns something new through community partnerships in Valley City.  A special thank you to Kelly Bacon, Chey Spitzer, and the North Dakota Department of Transportation for making this experience memorable and meaningful for our students.
