WISHEK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 52-year-old shop manager died after he was crushed by a vehicle that rolled off a lift on Wednesday, January 7th at Dakota Frontier Coop in Wishek, North Dakota.

Police Chief Andrew Tunheim said Michael Hulm was working to repair the braking system on a truck when it rolled off a lift in the shop around 2:45pm Wednesday afternoon. Tunheim said this was a tragic loss for the Hulm family and the Wishek community.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Michael Hulm will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek, ND. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Wishek, ND. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm with a Rosary/Vigil service at 4:30 pm at St Patrick’s Catholic Church.
