
FREMONT, NE – In three outings this season, Jamestown Jimmies ACHA D1 Men’s Hockey had the better of Midland.
Saturday was a lot different.
Midland scored three power play goals in an 8-1 rout of the Jimmies at Sidner Ice Arena.
The Warriors (7-15-4-0) were 3-of-7 on the powerplay as Jamestown (16-11-1-0) took eight minor penalties and a misconduct.
Matthew Odoherty and John Dube scored, each at even strength, for Midland for a 2-0 lead through one period.
Karl Grafelman scored a power play tally at 4:12 of the second for the Warriors and Dube scored again at even strength at 8:17.
Carson Brown’s 12th goal with five seconds left in the second period had Jamestown down 4-1 after 40 minutes. Jordan Baranesky and Wyatt Johnson assisted.
Period three provided a Midland wipeout. Lasse Richert scored at 1:01, then Hugo Lukacovic scored twice. He scored at even strength at 2:02 and on the power play at 6:19. Ethan Brown scored another man advantage goal at 11:38.
Jamestown had 45 shots to 38 for Midland.
