JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Lites dance team kicked off the 2026 competition season at the Jamestown East Meets West Invite on January 10th. The team competed in both High Kick and Jazz, earning a strong second-place finish in Jazz against tough regional competition.
In addition to the team events, the Hi-Lites were well represented in the solo division. Senior soloists Hailley Grenz and Claire Shanenko delivered standout performances, finishing first and second, respectively.
The Hi-Lites now turn their focus to their final regular-season competition at Fargo North on January 17th. The team will then travel to Minot State University on January 30–31 s to compete at the NDADD State Dance Competition, where they will perform in High Kick, Jazz and Hip Hop, along with individual solos.
