
BISMARCK – One of the top scorers for Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Hockey came through on Tuesday.
Parker Roelfsma scored a hat trick as Jamestown won for the sixth time in their last seven games, 6-3 over Bismarck at the Capital Ice Complex’s Wachter Arena.
Roelfsma also had an assist for a four-point night, on which he was joined by John Belzer (two goals, two assists) and Braxton Burkett (goal & three assists).
Jamestown (7-3-0-0, 7-2-0-0 WDA) led 3-1 after one period. Belzer began the scoring, assisted by Burkett, at 1:08.
Burkett notched a power play goal, set up by Roelfsma, at 5:46.
Brady Geinger brought Bismarck (5-6-1-0, 4-5-1-0) within a goal at 15:40, but Belzer set up the first goal by Roelfsma just 57 seconds later.
Harrison Schnell scored 58 seconds into the second period and the Demons were down just 3-2.
But Roelfsma completed his hat trick, first scoring on the power play from Burkett at 3:58 and then from Belzer and Bennett Goehner at 10:57 and Jamestown led 5-2 after 34 minutes.
Easton Richardson scored at 1:19 of the third period for Bismarck, but Bezler, assisted by Burkett, scored the game’s final goal at 14:45.
The Blue Jays outshot the Demons 31-22. JHS goalie Leif Hanson made 19 saves.
Jamestown will host Hazen-Beulah Saturday at 3:15 PM at Wilson Arena.
