VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Junior High held its school spelling bee on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Teacher Kristi Shanenko said all Junior High students, through their English classes, competed in a 15-question preliminary round, and the top scorers were invited to the school bee.
She said at the school bee, the top two places went to (1) Rachel Drummond and (2) Beck Dietrich. Rachel and Beck will now advance to the Barnes County competition to be held in the HAC Lobby on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 1 PM.
