
JAMESTOWN – A tight win against another good team kept an excellent stretch going for Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Hockey.
Jamestown defeated Legacy Friday at Wilson Arena 3-2 for the Blue Jays’ seventh victory in their last eight games.
After Harrison Johnson gave Legacy (10-3-2-2, 8-2-1-0) the lead at 3:27 of the first period, Ethan Oettle tied the game for the Blue Jays (8-3-0-0, 8-2-0-0) at 8:18, set up by Parker Roelfsema.
Zane Wurzer scored his first JHS goal from Brady Anderson at 12:36 and Jamestown led 2-1 through the first period.
Brady Nenow extended the lead to 3-1 at 5:12 of the second period with assists from Gavin Schafer and Max Whitman.
Isaac Jerome tallied for the Sabers at 1:39 of the third for the final margin as Blue Jays’ goalie Leif Hanson made 11 of his 23 saves in the final period to allow Jamestown to hang on for the victory.
Jamestown had 29 shots to Legacy’s 25.
The Blue Jays will host Hazen-Beulah on Saturday at 3:15 PM at Wilson Arena.
