JAMESTOWN – It was TBI (traumatic brain injury) awareness night on Tuesday night at Wilson Arena as Jamestown hosted Fargo Davies in girls hockey.
The Jays wore lime colored jerseys to help raise money for this fundraiser to help support the cause.
The Eagles exploded for four goals in the second period, including a pair of goals just seven seconds apart, and cruised to a 6-1 victory.
Jaden Melendez broke a scoreless tie with her third of the season at the 1:51 mark of the second period and Jasmine Deibert doubled the lead seven seconds later with her third of the season.
Sophia Rerick added her ninth and tenth of the season to round out the second period.
Kyndal Sheeley tacked on a third period power play goal, her first of the year, and senior Ellery Wilcox scored her fifth of the year late in the game to round out the scoring for Davies.
Stella Belzer spoiled the shut out bid for the Eagles when she scored her third of the season, a shorthanded goal, at the 6:34 mark of period three.
Davies outshot Jamestown 41-21 with Jays goalie Ady Bakalar stopping 35 shots.
The Jays slip to 4-8-1 on the season and the Eagles improved to 8-6-1.
