JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a semi-truck while walking across the street on Wednesday, January 21st in Jamestown.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol at approximately 4:35 p.m., a 2003 International semi-truck pulling a trailer was turning west onto 4th Street Northeast from southbound 5th Avenue Northeast. During the turn, a pedestrian, who was walking south across 4th Street Northeast, was struck by the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

The 16-year-old male who died at the scene will not be identified. Charges against the 36-year-old semi-truck driver are under review by the Stutsman County State’s Attorney’s Office. The truck driver was not injured in this crash which remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
