
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Chamber) – The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce recognized outstanding individuals and organizations at its 2026 Annual Awards Banquet, celebrating leadership, service, and contributions that continue to strengthen the Jamestown community.
The Chamber’s annual awards honor those who demonstrate a strong commitment to community involvement, business excellence, and civic leadership.
The Young Professional of the Year Award was presented to Riley Akervik. Akervik was recognized for his leadership in the arts and nonprofit sectors and his dedication to community service. His involvement with organizations such as the Jamestown Fine Arts Association and other local boards reflects a commitment to collaboration, civic engagement, and community growth.
The Business of the Year Award, selected from the 2025 Business of the Month recipients, was awarded to Cavendish Farms. Cavendish Farms was honored for its outstanding customer service, support of local organizations, and continued investment in employees and the community, including its leadership in United Way giving and other local initiatives.
The Above & Beyond Award was presented to Amy Walters for exceptional leadership and dedication to improving quality of life in Jamestown. Through her work with Jamestown Parks and Recreation, Walters guided major capital projects, secured significant grant funding, and helped enhance community spaces benefiting residents of all ages.
The Outstanding Citizens of the Year Award honored Don & Sharon Caine for their lifelong commitment to service and generosity. Their decades of involvement with organizations including Kiwanis, Camp Rokiwan, Jamestown Regional Medical Center, the University of Jamestown, and numerous charitable efforts have had a lasting impact on the community.
