
JAMESTOWN – Seven different players scored Saturday for Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Hockey in a 7-2 win over West Fargo at Wilson Arena.
Jamestown (10-4-0-0), who stepped out of conference play for the final time in the regular season, took a 1-0 lead on a Braxton Burkett goal only 31 seconds into the game.
A four-goal second period by the Blue Jays put the game out of reach. Gavin Schafer scored at 5:59, Brady Anderson struck on the power play from John Belzer and Burkett at 9:43, Max Whitman scored at 14:07 and Parker Roelfsma made the JHS lead 5-0 with just 15 seconds left in the period.
West Fargo had goals only 25 seconds apart from Ashton Wigestrand and Cruz Mahar early in the third period. Belzer scored for Jamestown at 7:19 and Zane Wurzer scored the Jays’ seventh at 12:45.
Leif Hanson made 26 saves for the Blue Jays, who were outshot 28-27.
Jamestown will return to WDA play Tuesday at Mandan. Coverage will begin at around 7:15 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
