MINOT – Brynn Hanson scored in the second round of a shootout Friday to give Minot United a 3-2 shootout win over Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Hockey at MAYSA Arena.

In the first round of the shootout, Izzy Maddock missed for Jamestown (4-9-1-1, 4-9-0-1 League) and Julia Stoner didn’t score for Minot United (5-10-2-0, 4-10-2-0).  Grace Allmaras missed for the Blue Jays in the second round before Hanson’s goal.  Layni Bakalar was stopped in the third round for Jamestown, assuring Minot United for the win.

Hanson scored a power play goal at 1:45 of the first period and Minot United led 1-0 after 17 minutes.

Stella Belzer evened the game with a power play goal for the Blue Jays at 5:17 of the second period, assisted by Bakalar and Maddock.

Allmaras put Jamestown into the lead with a goal set up by Layla Becker at 3:07 of the third period, but Stoner tied the game for Minot United just 1:23 later.

Jamestown had a 35-32 shot advantage, including six shots on goal in overtime.

The loss left the Blue Jays three points behind Minot United for eighth place.

Jamestown will play at Williston on Saturday.
