WILLISTON – Sometimes, there’s nothing that can be done about a hot goalie.

Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Hockey ran into one Saturday.  Williston goalie Jovie Mahar made 49 saves in regular play and stopped all three Blue Jay shots in the shootout as Williston defeated Jamestown 2-1 at the Agri Sports Complex.

Jamestown (4-9-1-2, 4-9-0-2 League) had 50 shots to Williston’s 37, but only tallied when Grace Allmaras tied the game at 5:12 of the third period with a power play goal.

Abbey TeSoro had scored for Williston (4-11-1-1, 3-11-1-1) in the first period.

TeSoro scored the winner in the shootout in the third round.  Izzy Maddock, Allmaras and Maci Fisher were all stopped for Jamestown in their second straight shootout loss.

Ady Bakalar made 36 saves for JHS.

The Blue Jays will host West Fargo United on Thursday at Wilson Arena.
