BURNSVILLE, MN – The Jimmies’ clutch player gave his team two clutch wins and was recognized.

Jamestown Jimmie Men’s Basketball senior guard Anthony Walters is the NSIC North Player of the Week for the third time this season.  Walters also earned the honor in back-to-back weeks in December.

As the Jimmies had two big wins last weekend to move into the sole lead in the North Division, Walters averaged 22.5 points, four rebounds and three assists.  He had 15 points, including a game-winning three-pointer with 5.8 seconds left in overtime, on Friday in a 74-71 home win over Southwest Minnesota State.  He added five rebounds and four assists.  On Saturday, Walters had his sixth 30-point game as a collegian and second as a Jimmie, scoring 30 in an 87-73 win over Sioux Falls, also at Harold Newman Arena.

In the two games, Walters was 18-of-37 from the field, including 12-of-21 against Sioux Falls.  He hit 7-of-16 three-pointers for the weekend.

Walters is fifth in NSIC scoring at 19.5 points per game.  He has 61 made three-pointers and is fourth-best in the conference in three-point shooting at 41.2%.
