
JAMESTOWN – While Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Basketball couldn’t keep their longest winning streak in three years going, the Blue Jay boys rallied for a nice win.
St. Mary’s came from a halftime deficit to defeat the Jamestown girls 68-61. Then, after the St. Mary’s boys had as much as a 15-point lead, Jamestown came back for a 40-point second half and a 67-56 win.

Mataya Messer and Lily Edinger combined for 33 of the 45 second half points for St. Mary’s (6-9, 4-8 WDA) as the Saints completed the regular season sweep and ended the four-game winning streak of Jamestown (7-7, 5-6), their longest since 2023.
Messer, a Southwest Minnesota State commit, scored 27, including 17 in the second half. Edinger, an 8th grade post player, scored 19, 16 of which were in the second half. St. Mary’s shot over 60 percent from the floor in the second half and shot just short of 50 percent for the game.
Macey Neumiller paced Jamestown with 23 points. Milan Martin scored 12 and Claire Marker had 10.
Boys: Jamestown 67, St. Mary’s 56
In this game, the two halves basically flipped. Late in the first half, St. Mary’s (6-9, 3-7 WDA) led 35-20. But Jamestown (4-10, 2-9) was within 36-27 at halftime.
Jamestown then stormed to a 40-20 advantage in the second half as St. Mary’s, who shot over 50 percent for much of the first half, went cold.
Eric Van Berkom scored 21 for the Blue Jays. Edison Walters scored 18 and Gradin Thorlakson had 11.
Jackson Barth and Christian Benning each dropped in 15 points for St. Mary’s.
Jamestown will host Legacy in a WDA doubleheader on Friday at Jerry Meyer Arena.
