VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – City Administrator Gwen Crawford told the city commission that the construction project of the new $14.3 million-dollar public works building on east main in Valley City is on track to be completed this year.

Construction of the new Public Works Service Center in Valley City is set to be completed in October of 2026.

Meanwhile, last fall, the City of Valley City approved the removal of two existing water storage facilities: The first would be the standpipe and the second would be the water tower located at 9th Street NW and 5th Avenue NW. These structures would be replaced by one new water tower.

Moore Engineering Senior Project Manager Tracy Eslinger had this update for the city commission.

Eslinger said the water tower will streamline the city’s water distribution zones, reduce operational and maintenance costs, and improve water pressure in historically low-pressure areas of the city.
