
JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Basketball has tended to keep matters interesting this season.
The Blue Jays again pulled off a comeback Friday, scoring 19 straight points late in the second half to erase a 12-point deficit and defeat Legacy 61-54 at Jerry Meyer Arena.
Jamestown’s boys, who had defeated St. Mary’s Tuesday, were thoroughly controlled by Legacy as the visitors won 83-42.
Girls: Jamestown 61, Legacy 54
When Marlee Falcon hit a layup with 8:55 remaining for Legacy (10-6, 7-6 WDA), the Sabers led 50-38. After that, Jamestown (8-7, 6-6) held them scoreless for nearly eight minutes.
Macey Neumiller, who led Jamestown with 22 in her fourth straight game with at least 20 points, hit three three-pointers during the run and five for the game. She also made four crucial free throws in the last two minutes. Milan Martin scored 10 points for Jamestown, who is tied for fifth in the WDA standings with Williston, only one-half game behind fourth-place Legacy.
Falcon also hit five three-pointers and scored 23 for Legacy.
