JAMESTOWN – Coming into Friday night, Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Hockey had fared well in period two this season. It was their most productive period with 19 goals scored.
That trend continued on Friday night at Wilson Arena as Jamestown struck for five second period goals and took down Dickinson 6-1.
Gavin Schafer netted a hat trick, Parker Roelfsema snapped in a pair of goals and Bennett Goehner tacked on a power play goal.
Braxton Burkett and John Belzer each chipped in with a pair of assists.
Leif Hanson stopped 17 shots as Jamestown outshot the Mavericks 42-18.
The win jumps the Blue Jays, 11-5 overall and 10-4 in conference play, into fourth place in the WDA standings and keeps their hopes alive to nail down the number three seed for the West Region tournament, which starts February 19 in Bismarck.
The Jays will be back on the ice on Saturday at 3:30 PM for Senior day at Wilson Arena against Bismarck.
