
SIOUX CENTER, IA – A lot of effort led to a split Friday for Jamestown Jimmies Men’s Volleyball.
The Jimmies earned their second win of 2026 by ralling from two sets down to win a five-set match over Viterbo 26-28, 20-25, 25-17, 25-15, 15-6 as Dordt University’s DeWitt Gym. Then, the Jimmies were swept by the host Defenders 25-13, 25-19, 25-11.

Chase Hawkinson had 21 kills (.289) to pace the Jimmies (2-4), including three in the deciding fifth set. He also had six total blocks (1 solo, 5 assists). Ethan Carroll had nine kills (.389) and also scored six total blocks (1 solo, 5 assists). Kaden Jenkins had 37 set assists and 13 digs.
The Jimmies hit .197 for the match, combining to hit .397 in the last three sets.

That excellent hitting against Viterbo didn’t continue for the Jimmies (2-5), who were outkilled 40-13 and hit -.045.
Lance Vermeer had nine kills and five total blocks for Dordt (7-2).
Ladarius Williams led Jamestown with five kills. He also had three total blocks.
Jamestown will play Morningside and Arizona Christian in Sioux Center on Saturday.
