MANDAN – In the first competition for the Jamestown Jimmies’ newest sport, sisters provided great individual performances, but they weren’t enough for a win.

Gustavus Adolphus College defeated UJ Saturday 5-2 at the Mandan Tennis Center in the Jimmies’ first women’s tennis match.

Sisters Julie and Bodil van Zeijl provided Jamestown with the individual match wins, teaming to win in the number one doubles match and winning the two top flights in singles.

However, Gustavus Adolphus won the other two doubles matches to take the doubles point and won flights three through six in singles.

Jamestown will have its first NSIC match Friday against Augustana in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
