MINOT – Again, Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Basketball put up a fight, but again, a team in a higher standing than they was too much.

Minot held off Jamestown 85-68 on Tuesday at Minot High School’s Magic City Campus Gym.

Oakley Trueblood paced the Magicians (10-7, 8-6 WDA) with 24 points.  Patrick Shanahan had 17, Tayvin Archer scored 14 and Drew Jordan scored 12.

Edison Walters poured in 24 points for Jamestown (4-12, 2-11).  Eric Van Berkom and Jamison Kleinjan had 12 points apiece.  Gradin Thorlakson had eight.

At one point, Jamestown, who trailed 41-27 at halftime, was within eight points before Minot pulled away.

The loss assured that the Blue Jays will play in the play-in round of the West Region tournament during the last weekend of February.

Jamestown will play Friday night at Bismarck.
