BISMARCK – In their quest for as high a seed for postseason as possible, Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Hockey needed an important win on Tuesday.  With a rally, they gained it.

Brady Nenow scored with 1:54 remaining to bring Jamestown back from a one-goal deficit through two periods for a 4-3 win over Century at the VFW Sports Center.

John Belzer completed a hat trick for Jamestown (13-5-0-0, 12-4-0-0 WDA) to tie the game at 6:12 of the third period with an unassisted goal.

Nenow’s winner assured the Blue Jays of finishing no worse than fourth in the WDA, but they remain in third with this win, two points ahead of fourth-place Mandan with two regular season games remaining.

Ethan Oettle and Parker Roelfsema set up Nenow’s first goal at 7:46 of the first period for a 1-0 Jamestown lead.

Heath Frykman tied the game for Century (11-9-0-2, 9-6-0-2) at 4:41 of the second period before Belzer scored on the power play at 6:14 from Nenow and Roelfsema.  Alex Schlafman tied the game for the Patriots at 10:54 of the middle period before Oliver Sparks put Century up 3-2 with 2:27 to play in the second.

Jamestown outshot Century 28-20.  Leif Hanson made 17 saves in net.

The Blue Jays will play their final home game of the season against Hazen-Beulah Thursday at 7:30 PM at Wilson Arena.
