
BABSON PARK, FL – A busy weekend in Florida began well for Jamestown Jimmies Men’s Volleyball.
Chase Hawkinson had 19 kills (.429) and four total blocks as the Jimmies topped Webber International on Thursday 25-23, 25-15, 22-25, 25-19 at the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
Lucas Soeldner contributed seven kills for Jamestown (3-7). Ladarius Williams had seven kills, four aces and four digs. Kaden Jenkins had 27 set assists and 15 digs.
Soeldner and Williams had kills for two of the last six points of the first set as the Jimmies rallied from five points down to win while hitting .348.
Jamestown hit .500 in a second set win. Williams and Hawkinson had three kills each.
A back-and-forth third set ended with Brennan Porter and Mateus Haubrich having the 24th and 25th points for Webber.
Hawkinson dominated the fourth set with eight kills, including at match point.
On Friday, the Jimmies will meet Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida.
