VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Following a report this week, the Dickinson Public School District was scammed out of nearly $5 million dollars from a fraudster pretending to be a trusted vendor, State School Superintendent Levi Bachmeier has this advice.

Bachmeier is a former business manager with the West Fargo Public School District. As the newly appointed State School Superintendent, he’s been holding listening sessions at school districts around the state gathering input from school administrators, teachers, and civic leaders.

Meanwhile, Valley City Public School District Business Manager Jackie Cordie said she has received suspicious emails from those who pretend to be trusted.

She talked about the fail-safe steps she must take to avoid being a victim of this scam.

Bachmeier held listening sessions in Valley City and at the Litchville-Marion Public School Districts on February 11th.
