
Game One: LaMoure-Litchville/Marion 67, South Border 25
Norah and Julia DelaBarre combined for 38 points, with Norah DelaBarre leading all scorers with 22, as LaMoure-Litchville/Marion rolled to a 67-25 win over South Border in the opening round of the Region 1 District 2 Class B Tournament.
The Loboes set the tone early, scoring at least 20 points in each of the first three quarters to build a commanding lead. With the outcome well in hand, LaMoure-Litchville/Marion emptied its bench in the fourth quarter.
Brooklyn Rohweder paced South Border with seven points.
With the loss, South Border moves to the 3 p.m. elimination game Saturday. LaMoure-Litchville/Marion advances to the first semifinal.
Game Two: Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier 59, Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter 29
Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter could not overcome a sluggish start, falling behind 23-4 after the first quarter as Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier seized control early.
While the second and third quarters were more competitive, the Rebels continued to win the scoring margin and steadily extended their lead in a game played at a breakneck pace.
Anna Schlecht led all scorers with 17 points, while teammate Betsy Huber added 15 as Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier rolled to the quarterfinal victory.
The Rebels advance to face LaMoure-Litchville/Marion in the semifinals. Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter moves to the 3 p.m. elimination game Saturday against South Border.
Game Three: Kidder County 52, Medina/Pingree-Buchanan 23
After a tightly contested first quarter that saw Kidder County take a 14-9 lead, the second-seeded Wolves took control the rest of the way in a 52-23 win over Medina/Pingree-Buchanan.
Kidder County outscored the Thunder 38-14 over the final three quarters, using a strong defensive effort to deny easy looks inside. Without a consistent 3-point threat, Medina/Pingree-Buchanan was unable to keep pace offensively.
The decisive stretch came in the third quarter, when the Wolves outscored the Thunder 15-2. Medina/Pingree-Buchanan’s only points in the frame came in the final minute.
Taylor Zimmerman, Ella Witt and Ava Schmidt each finished in double figures to lead Kidder County.
With the win, Kidder County advances to the semifinals. Medina/Pingree-Buchanan moves to the second elimination game Saturday.
Game Four: Linton-HMB 64, Ellendale 38
Linton-HMB rode a strong shooting performance from freshman Macy Hase to a 64-38 win over Ellendale in the District 2 quarterfinals.
Hase scored 22 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Lions. Madeline Thorpe paced the Cardinals with 19 points, but Ellendale struggled to find additional scoring support, with only one other player scoring more than two points.
Offensive consistency proved key for Linton-HMB, which scored at least 15 points in each quarter. Ellendale was held to 13 points in the first half.
With the win, Linton-HMB advances to face Kidder County in the second semifinal. Ellendale moves to the second elimination game Saturday against Medina/Pingree-Buchanan.
