
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The new addition of the Sheyenne Valley Area Career Technology Center in Valley City is now complete.
North Dakota legislators appropriated $70 million for the expansion of existing Career Technology Centers in the state during their 2021 legislative session. Bopp said the Valley City school received $3.18 million through a CTE grant. He said the state agreed to cover added construction costs for the project totaling just under $4 million dollars.
Director Derrick Bopp said the new addition will enhance hands-on training for their students to help prepare them for the workforce.
Bopp said local company’s scoop up their welding students quickly thanks to the training from their school instructor and new equipment.
Bopp thanked all of the area school districts who support the mission of the vocational school.
An open house to tour the new addition of the Sheyenne Valley Area Career Technology Center will be held later this year.
