MIAMI SHORES, FL – In the second of four weekend matches in Florida, Jamestown Jimmies Men’s Volleyball was swept Friday by Barry University 25-14, 25-19, 25-22 at the Health & Sports Center.

William Phinizy led the Bucs (8-3) with 11 kills and two aces.  Jacob Strnisa had nine kills and five total blocks.

For Jamestown (3-8), Chase Hawkinson again led the offense with 15 kills (.171).  Ladarius Williams had six kills, an ace and six digs.

Barry hit a sizzling .565 with no errors in breezing through the first set.  Phinizy and Strnisa each had four kills.  Hawkinson had five kills for the Jimmies, but they hit just .080.

At a 7-7 tie in the second set, Barry scored the next four points and never trailed again.  Hawkinson tallied three more kills, but UJ hit -.040.

The third set was 9-9 before Barry scored five of the next six points, helped by aces from Phinizy and Maddox Gifford.  Phinizy had three more kills as the Bucs held on.

Jamestown will meet Barry again on Sunday in Miami Shores, then play Warner University on the same day.
