BISMARCK – Jamestown Blue Jays Basketball was swept by Bismarck High on Friday at Karlgaard Gymnasium.

BHS’ girls topped the Blue Jays 66-55 to move ahead of both Jamestown and Williston in the WDA standings.  Bismarck’s second-ranked boys then blew past the Blue Jays 99-48.

The win was crucial for the Demons’ chances of avoiding the West Region tournament play-in round.  Bismarck now stands in fifth place at 8-7, with Jamestown and Williston, who also lost Friday, at 6-8 and tied for sixth.

Bismarck’s boys had no trouble in improving to 14-1 in the WDA and moving into a tie for the league lead with Century.  The top-ranked Patriots saw their 32-game winning streak end Friday with a loss to Legacy.

Meanwhile, the Blue Jays, who have lost three in a row and six of their last seven, are 2-12 in conference through Friday and in eighth, one-half game ahead of Minot North.

Jamestown will play a doubleheader at Williston on Saturday.
