
Jamestown Jimmies Track & Field had place winners in two weekend events, the SDSU Classic in Brookings, South Dakota and the CSB/SJU Valentine’s Day Open in Collegeville, Minnesota.
For the Jimmie women at Brookings, Greta Goven ran a season-best 2:21.51 to finish third in the 800 meters. Lydia Franson was seventh in the 5000 meters, running in 17:27.66.
At Collegeville, Madalyn Neumann leapt a personal-best 1.56 meters (5 feet, 1 1/4 inches) to finish third in the high jump. Cambrie Fischer and Sydney Ulrich both placed in the triple jump. Fischer was fourth with 9.87 meters (32 feet, 4 3/4 inches). Ulrich was sixth with 9.38 meters (30 feet, 9 1/4 inches). Ulrich also was eighth in the long jump with 4.89 meters (16 feet, 1/2 inch).
Jamestown’s men at Brookings were led by Ethan Duval’s fourth place finish in the high jump. Duval jumped 2.00 meters (6 feet, 6 3/4 inches). Ashton Judge was fifth in the long jump at 6.86 meters (22 feet, 6 1/4 inches).
In Collegeville, Liam Horner and Riley Johnson both cleared 1.88 meters (6 feet, 2 inches) to share fourth in the high jump. Horner’s leap was a personal best, while Johnson recorded his high for this season.
UJ will compete Saturday, February 21 at the Marauders Tune Up in Bismarck.
