MINOT – It worked before, so why not again?

For the second time this season, Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Basketball used a flurry of three-point shooting to defeat Minot North 97-43 on Tuesday, snap a three-game losing streak, and help their chances to avoid the play-in round of the West Region tournament.

Jamestown (9-10, 7-9 WDA) hit 21 three-pointers on Tuesday after sinking 20 in a 90-61 home win over the Sentinels (4-15, 2-14) on January 20.

Macey Neumiller hit four threes and led Jamestown with 20 points.  Milan Martin hit five three-pointers and poured in 18.  Haley Attleson hit four triples and scored 17.  Braylee Serfoss, a sophomore playing in just her eighth varsity game, hit three three-pointers and scored 13.  Nine different players made three-point shots for the Blue Jays.

Elli Laskowski, who entered the game as the WDA’s second-leading scorer at just under 25 points a game, scored 18, but managed only five points in a first half after which Jamestown led 44-16.

The point total was the highest for Jamestown since a 106-73 victory over Turtle Mountain on February 5, 2022.

This Blue Jay win and a loss by St. Mary’s put Jamestown into seventh place in the WDA standings, one game ahead of the eighth-place Saints and one-half game behind sixth-place Williston.  Jamestown will host Williston in a doubleheader Friday at the Jamestown Civic Center.  Coverage will begin at around 5:30 PM on the Jamestown 107.1 Sports YouTube Channel.
