JAMESTOWN – Early deficits have proven to be too much for Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Basketball to overcome this season, and the Jays faced another on Tuesday.

Minot North never trailed, poured in 51 first-half points, and eased their way to a 89-80 over Jamestown at Jerry Meyer Arena, sending the Blue Jays (4-15, 2-14 WDA) to their fifth straight loss.

Brayden Blikre scored 28 for the Sentinels (3-16, 3-13), who had lost to Jamestown in Minot in January.  He hit four three-pointers.  Brady Vigested scored 21 and Traydon Bachmeier tallied 16.

Jordan Kleinjan hit four three-pointers and scored a career high 24 points to lead Jamestown.  Eric Van Berkom scored 22.  Van Berkom scored seven straight points at the start of the second half to cut the Minot North lead to six points, but came no closer.

Jamestown now stands in 10th place in the WDA standings.  They must defeat Williston on Friday at the Jamestown Civic Center to remain with any chance of hosting a play-in game in the West Region tournament.  Coverage of Friday’s doubleheader will begin at around 5:30 PM on the Jamestown 107.1 Sports YouTube Channel.
