VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City High School Theater Department presents Enter The Body adapted by Joy McCullough.
In the backstage storage room, Shakespeare’s dead women gather to pass the time until they are required on stage once again. While older women are resigned to their fates, the younger ones grow tired of dying night after night and begin sharing their stories with one another. They start with comedic speed-throughs of Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and King Lear, but then start asking: How might things have been different if they had been given the choice? Both a love letter to and critique of Shakespeare, Enter The Body is a testament to young women’s support for each other as they reclaim their stories in the aftermath of trauma.
Production dates are on: Sunday, March 1st at 2 pm, Monday, March 2nd at 7 pm, and Tuesday, March 3rd at 7 pm
