
BISMARCK – Two comebacks weren’t enough, and now, the 2026 Jamestown Blue Jay Boys Hockey season is on the brink.
Sixth seed Bismarck lost 2-0 and 3-2 leads Thursday before Easton Richardson’s second goal of the game at 2:22 of overtime gave the Demons a 4-3 win over third seed Jamestown in the quarterfinal of the West Region tournament at the VFW Sports Center.
Parker Roelfsema scored twice for Jamestown (13-5-1-2), including the goal that tied the game at 3-3 at 7:36 of the third period, just 18 seconds after Cooper Christensen had sent Bismarck (6-11-3-2) to a 3-2 lead.
A power play goal by Elias Johnson gave Bismarck a 1-0 lead with just 1:18 left in the first period.
Richardson scored his first goal at 2:10 of the second period for a 2-0 Demon lead, but Jamestown scored twice on the power play later in the frame. Roelfsma’s first goal came at 13:50, followed by a Mason Gumke goal at 15:52, assisted by Brady Nenow and Gavin Schafer.
Jamestown lost despite outshooting Bismarck 41-10.
