BISMARCK – With the season on the line Friday at the West Region hockey tournament, Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Hockey bounced back and defeated Bottineau-Rugby 4-3 in an elimination contest at the VFW Sports Center.

Jamestown was led by Parker Roelfsema, as he continued his big season and red hot tournament with two goals, his 19th and 20th of the season.

Roelfsema has four goals in this year’s tournamnet.

John Belzer scored his 11th of the season on a breakaway in period two, and he added a pair of assists. Brady Nenow smacked in his eighth goal of the season.

Braxton Burkett dished out three assists and padded his team lead with 20.

Leif Hanson came up with 21 saves as the Jays outshot the Braves 29-24.

B-R got goals from Grady Glasner, Peyton Getzlaff and Clifdyn Brossart.

A win on Saturday would send the Blue Jays to the state tournament for the first time since 2023. Jamestown will meet Mandan in a state qualifier. Coverage will begin at around 10:45 AM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
