
JAMESTOWN – The morning was good for Jamestown Jimmies Softball, then so was the evening – until the seventh inning.
The Jimmies defeated Dakota Wesleyan 9-4 Saturday morning inside the Nelson Family Bubble, then Dickinson State rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh inning Saturday evening for a 4-3 triumph.

Trinity Gregg drove in two runs and Sonya Rodgers delivered a key three-run triple for Jamestown (7-1).
Gregg delivered a two-run single in the second inning for UJ, then Rodgers cleared the bases with her triple in a four-run fourth inning. A passed ball scored the inning’s other run.
Natalie Draper tripled in a fifth inning run for the Jimmies and two more runs scored in the Jamestown sixth on an RBI single by Maddie Spaeth and a run-scoring ground ball by Tori Olson.
Abby Blair (3-0) pitched five excellent scoreless inning, yielding only one hit while striking out three and walking one.
Dickinson St. 4, Jamestown 3
Jamestown (7-2) cruised to a 3-0 lead through six innings, but starter Aubrey Quern ran into trouble in the seventh inning, as Dickinson State (6-2) came within 3-2 on a two-run infield single by Ashlee Potter off Hope Ransome (2-2). Ransome then allowed a sacrifice hit and a strikeout for two outs. Kiley Hubby then gave the Blue Hawks the lead with a two-run single.
Sonya Rodgers singled to lead off the bottom of the seventh for the Jimmies, but Jamestown failed to score.
Ransome doubled in the second inning for a 1-0 Jimmie lead. A sacrifice fly by Madelyn Webb extended the UJ lead to 2-0 in the second. Sydney Grendler drove in a run with a sixth inning single.
Jamestown will host a doubleheader with Bismarck State College inside the Nelson Family Bubble on Sunday at 11:00 AM.
