VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewDakota.com) – Over the next five days, Valley City Public Schools will be hosting several major events at VCHS and the HAC.

Class B District 1 Boys’ Basketball Tournament (8 Teams)
• Friday, 2/27 at 3:00 PM
• Monday, 3/2 at 3:00 PM
• Tuesday, 3/3 at 4:30 PM
VCHS Speech Meet (21 Teams) – Saturday, 2/28
North Dakota Special Olympics State Winter Games (Up to 500 Athletes) – Saturday, 2/28 & Sunday, 3/1
VCHS Spring Play (30+ Theater Students) – Sunday, 3/1 at 2:00 PM; Monday, 3/2 and Tuesday, 3/3 at 7:00 PM
Superintendent Josh Johnson said we are super excited to host all of these activities and welcome students, coaches, officials, families, and fans from across the region and state. With that said, we want to make everyone aware that Valley City will experience a significant increase in the number of vehicles, pedestrians, and visitors throughout the community — especially in and around the VCHS. He added, give special attention to Friday and Monday, when basketball games begin at 3:00 PM. These start times will directly overlap with regular school dismissal on both days. As a result, traffic congestion will be heavier than normal during the afternoon hours. There will be increased bus traffic, parent pick-up traffic, team arrivals, and spectator parking occurring at the same time. Johnson said we appreciate our community’s support as we showcase everything that Valley City has to offer to our visitors and hope that we can host these events in the future.  If you have any questions or would like more information, please reach out to us at the district offices at 701.845.0483 ext.0.
