MINOT – Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Basketball showed resolve in its West Region play-in game. But one of the region’s leading scorers proved to be too much.
Brayden Blikre scored 32 points and led a second-half comeback for Minot North in a 77-75 home win over Jamestown Friday in the play-in round of the West Region tournament.
Blikre scored 17 of his 32 in the second half for the Sentinels (5-17) after they had lost an early 13-point lead and saw Jamestown (5-17) rally to a six-point lead in the second half. Blikre, the sixth-leading scorer in the WDA in the regular season, hit four three-pointers.
Eric Van Berkom led Jamestown with 22 points. Freshman Landry Rham, playing in just his fourth varsity game, helped spark the Blue Jays’ comeback with 20 points. He hit six three-pointers, including four in the second-half. Edison Walters, in his final game as a Blue Jay, scored 14 points. Gradin Thorlakson, another senior, tallied 13.
