DAVENPORT, FL – In game one, frustration continued for Jamestown Jimmies Baseball.  In game two, at least temporarily, it ended.

Rockhurst University came from 2-0 down and scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win 8-2 in game one of a doubleheader with UJ Saturday at Northeast Regional Park.  In the second game, the Jimmies dominated with an 11-0 win, their first win of 2026, behind a complete game shutout by Isaac Hanson.

Game 1: Rockhurst 8, Jamestown 2
Two RBI by Trevor Kostial and effective pitching by starter Luke Zimmer gave Jamestown (0-9) a 2-0 lead through four and a half innings. Kostial had an RBI single in the first and an RBI double in the third. Zimmer allowed only a run and a hit in four and two thirds innings.

Rockhurst (8-0) scored a run in the fifth, then attacked the Jamestown bullpen with seven runs in the bottom of the sixth. A wild pitch by Ben Bohlmann (0-2) scored the go-ahead run for the Hawks. That was followed by RBI singles by Michael Novak & Josh Syfert and a two-run single by Michael Laudando.

Game 1: Jamestown 11, Rockhurst 0
Hanson (1-0) had his first complete game and shutout as a Jimmie and improved his career record to 4-0. He allowed three hits, struck out four, walked one, hit two and threw 99 pitches.

Mason Shea brought in the first run for Jamestown (1-9) with an RBI on a squeeze play in the bottom of the first inning.

The Jimmies broke the game open with six runs in the third. Adrian Warcken brought home the first two with his second home run of the season. Jett Nelson drove in one with a bunt fielder’s choice. Ben Swennumson and Benney Benitez followed with RBI singles, and Benitez’s hit was on a bunt.

Melvin Maldonado hit a two-run homer, his second of the season, in the fourth. The last two runs came in the sixth on a bases loaded walk to Maldonado and a sacrifice fly by Nelson.

UJ will play Seton Hill University in a doubleheader on Sunday.
