
JAMESTOWN – Senior Day didn’t turn out to be the best day for Jamestown Jimmies ACHA Division 1 Women’s Hockey.
Minot State defeated UJ for the sixth time in as many meetings this season with a 5-1 triumph Saturday at Wilson Arena.
Minot State (18-6-1-7) started a big first period with a 1-0 goal from Makayla Peters at 5:34.
Jamestown (9-18-1-1) tied the game on Gabriella Schroder’s eighth goal of the season on the power play at 9:36 from Mikaela Nimetz and Bethany Wielgosh.
The Beavers scored twice more in the first period, with Kinley Brassard scoring at 12:15 and Maggie Nicol at 16:02.
Krissy Rink scored 6:51 into the second period for a 4-1 MSU lead and Kaitlyn Snyder scored at 7:50 of the third period.
Minot State had 46 shots to Jamestown’s 33. Lilah Drew started in goal for Jamestown and made 15 saves in just over 28 minutes. Madelynne Sylvestre played the rest of the game and made 26 saves.
