TITUSVILLE, FL – Plenty of runs meant two more wins for Jamestown Jimmies Softball.

The Jimmies took two in the Space Coast Spring Games Monday, defeating Southern New Hampshire 11-1 and Roosevelt 11-7 at the USSSA Space Coast Complex.

Jorja Hainsworth tripled, homered and drove in six runs to lead UJ (12-4).

This game was decided quickly. Jamestown (12-4) sent 11 batters to the plate in a seven-run first inning. Maddie Spaeth brought in the first run with a single. Natalie Draper followed with an RBI single, then Hainsworth slammed a three-run triple for a 5-0 Jimmie lead. Lauren Weigel plated a run with a ground ball and Trinity Gregg had an RBI single to cap the rally.

Jamestown’s other four runs were in the second inning on an RBI double by Draper and a three-run home run by Hainsworth.

Aubrey Quern (3-0) cruised in the circle with the big lead, giving up a run and three hits in four innings with two strikeouts and two walks.

Another big inning led to another win for the Jimmies (13-4) as they snapped a 3-3 tie with six runs in the fifth inning.

Amanda Burch walked with the bases loaded to put Jamestown ahead for good. Weigel drove in a run with a ground out, fourth and fifth runs scored an an error, and the inning’s sixth run was produced by a fielder’s choice by Gregg.

Jamestown improved the lead to 11-3 after two sixth inning runs. Kate Geiszler brought in the first with a triple and Peyton Quam delivered the second with a fielder’s choice.

UJ then held on after late errors led to one run by Roosevelt in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Hope Ransome (4-3) worked the first four innings, allowed three runs (one earned) on six hits with four strikeouts. Quern worked the last three innings for her first save.

Jamestown will play West Virginia Wesleyan and Davenport on Tuesday.
