VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota Winter Show Board members surprised Chef “Mike” Firkus, as he celebrated his 50th year as a vendor during the 89th Annual North Dakota Winter Show in Valley City.
Mike was 21-year-old when he and his family set up their booth in the Winter Show back in 1976. Over the last 50 years Mike has gained so many life long friendships. He does cooking demonstrations and sells cookware which many customers tell me is second to none and his cooking is fantastic too! We all look forward to seeing you again next year!
Mike was overcome with emotion as board directors gave him a surprise anniversary ceremony on Saturday, March 7th.
