MINOT (NewsDakota)- Their motto was “Our Journey”.  And on Saturday night, the journey finished at the top of the class B mountain.

Behind a balanced effort and trademark defense and rebounding, the LaMoure-Litchville/Marion Loboes won their first girls basketball state championship with a 64-49 win over the Central McLean Cougars inside the Minot State University Dome.

The dominance began immediately, with the Loboes (26-2) collecting eleven of the first twelve rebounds while hitting three triples and the Loboes led 23-11 after one.  And the fun did not stop in the second as the Loboes held the Cougars (26-2) to 2-for-13 to take a 37-17 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, it was a pair of threes by Mia Van Eeden stopped any Cougars momentum, along with the outstanding performance of seniors Norah Delabarre (20 points, 18 rebounds) and tournament MVP Addy Smith (19 points, 8 rebounds) as the Loboes won the backboards 51-30.

Loboe seniors Norah Delabarre, Mia Van Eeden and Addie Robbins conclude their career as state champions.
