VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Public School Superintendent Josh Johnson said we are excited to continue to share information about our upcoming School Facility Project 2028 at Valley City Public Schools. Since the project passed on June 10, 2025, we have been actively involved in designing the new school with our architects, ICON Architectural Group and construction managers, Construction Engineers.
He said with the design phase now being completed, we are moving into the bidding phase of the project. Beginning on Tuesday, March 10 until the deadline on Thursday, April 2, Construction Engineers will be advertising our project in a competitive bidding process. For more information on the bids, you can click on the CE website at https://constructionengineers. com/subcontractors/ (bids for VCPS will be listed tomorrow). We are encouraging subcontractors in and around Valley City who may be interested in bidding on this project to please contact Construction Engineers at 701.792.3200. Upon receiving and reviewing bids, Construction Engineers will present project recommendations to the VCPS School Board around the middle of April.
Johnson said tentatively, we are planning for a school and community groundbreaking event to occur during the week of May 11-15, 2026, at the site of the new school. Once the bidding phase has been completed, we will send out updated information to our staff, parents, and community members about this exciting event happening here in Valley City. We believe that construction on the new school will begin before the end of May.
