
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Pipestone Farms will be asking the Barnes County Commission to approve a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) during their regular board meeting on Tuesday, March 17th at 8am.
Pipestone Farms will be asking the commission to approve a permit to build a 7,717 swine or 3,161 Animal Unit (AU) Hog farrowing Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) in Barnes County.
On Tuesday, March 10th the Barnes County Planning and Zoning Board unanimously approved of that conditional use permit to build the hog operation facility following two hours of testimony during a public hearing in the courthouse.

Public Comment: Two business days prior to providing comment, the individual must provide the governing body a comment card containing the individual’s name, address, and the topic the individual wants to address. An individual is limited to commenting on a topic that is on the meeting’s agenda or was on the agenda of at least one of the board’s preceding meetings. An individual is limited to two minutes. A majority of the board may allow a speaker more than two minutes. Total time for the individual commentary is limited to 10 minutes. A majority of the board may allow more than 10 minutes. Topics are limited to topics pertinent to Barnes County. Individuals may not interfere with the orderly conduct of the regular meeting. An individual may not be defamatory, abusive, harassing, or unlawful. The county commission board may prohibit individual comment when an alternative procedure exists to bring the particular type of public comment before the board, the public comment includes confidential or exempt information, or the public comments is prohibited by law. The board may place the time for individual comment at a point in the meeting the board deems appropriate. An individual may not yield any of their allotted time to another individual.
