JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Delegates from Jamestown represented District 12 at the 2026 state convention for the North Dakota Democratic–Nonpartisan League on Saturday, March 7 in Bismarck. The main business of the convention was to endorse statewide candidates.
The delegates voted to support candidates who promised to work for North Dakotans up and down the ballot, to restore “Team North Dakota” to the halls of government.
Delegates were impressed by the humility and passion of candidates. Joy Johnson, a delegate from District 12 reflects, “Tracy Foss, candidate for superintendent of public instruction, concluded her remarks with, ‘I don’t want the title, I want the job.’ After this convention, I felt energized and felt some hope in these dark times.”
In January, over 50 people attended a “Winter Blue Dinner” hosted by District 12 Dem-NPL, and later this month, the volunteers will participate in a voter outreach training on March 28th. For more information, please contact: district12.demnpl@gmail.com
