
BISMARCK – Ruth Harris was a winner as University of Jamestown Track & Field began its 2026 outdoor season.
Harris won the pole vault Saturday at the Marauders Outdoor Opener at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.
Harris cleared a personal best 3.40m (11 feet, 1 3/4 inches). The sophomore also was second in the triple jump with another personal best, 10.94m (35 feet, 10 3/4 inches).
Sydney Ulrich had another point-scoring result for the Jimmie women, placing third in the long jump at 5.28m (17 feet, 4 inches).
Liam Horner had a second-place finish for the Jamestown men. Horner was second in the high jump at 1.88 meters (6 feet, 2 inches).
The Jimmies will compete in the Washington University Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday and Friday.
