HELENA, Mont. (VCSU Sports Information) – Valley City State’s Kennadi Stone has been named the Frontier Conference Softball Player of the Week.

The Junior from Blaine, Minnesota was 8 for 11 (.727 batting average) this past weekend as the Vikings split the four-game series with Bellevue. Stone reached base 13 times in 16 plate appearances for an on-base percentage of .813. She had a slugging percentage of .909.

Stone raised her team-leading batting average to .449 with a team best three home runs and 20 RBI. She also leads the team in OPS (1.257), doubles (7), total bases (47), Slugging percentage (.681), Walks (16), Hit by Pitch (6), and on-base percentage (.576).

Stone also is a very good fielder. She has just one error in 111 total chances. Her 108 putouts is second behind catcher Pascale Kihn and her .982 field percentage is also second to Kihn for players with more than ten chances.
She currently is second in school history in career on-base percentage and fourth in career walks.

This is the second weekly honor for a VCSU softball player. Maddie Hazelton was Pitcher of the Week back on February 16th.

Frontier Conference Softball Homepage

The Vikings are set to open the home conference season this weekend as Dakota State comes to Valley City. Games are scheduled for Friday 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the VCSU Softball Complex. The Vikings are 12-13 overall and 2-2 in the Frontier.
