
JAMESTOWN – In their first-ever weekend of NSIC play, Jamestown Jimmies Softball encountered a tough time on offense on the road. That continued at home.
On Saturday, St. Cloud St. swept a pair of games from Jamestown 3-1 and 8-1 inside the Nelson Family Bubble. In their first six NSIC games, the Jimmies have been limited to a total of five runs.

St. Cloud St. (22-9, 4-1 NSIC) won behind a one-hitter from pitcher Macey Clark (10-2), who struck out 12.
An RBI ground out by Hannah Weckman and Brooke Holmes’ RBI infield hit gave the Huskies a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning.
The Jimmies (19-9, 0-5) scored their only run and had their only hit in the bottom of the second inning on a solo homer by Hope Ransome, her first home run this season and second as a Jimmie.
Holmes drove in her second run with an RBI single in the sixth inning.
Abby Blair (6-3), starting for Jamestown, allowed two runs and seven hits in four and a third innings with four strikeouts and two walks.

SCSU (23-9, 5-1 NSIC) assured themselves of the sweep quickly, scoring all their runs in the first inning. Seven of them were charged to UJ starting pitcher Aubrey Quern (6-2), who gave up three hits, walked four and left after recording just one out.
Morgan Honeycutt drove in the first two runs with a single. A single by Grace Frechette brought in two more. Holmes hit a three-run triple for a 7-0 lead. Bethany Weiss capped the onslaught with an RBI single.
Amanda Burch kept Jamestown (19-10, 0-6) from being shut out with a fifth inning home run, her second this season.
Huskie starter Alyssa Kunz (5-1) allowed just two hits in six innings with eight strikeouts.
Jamestown will host Concordia-St. Paul in a Sunday doubleheader inside the Nelson Family Bubble, starting at noon.
